In this guide I will show you how to change the font colour for the main menu on your Kodi device.
It is very easy to do and is something that can help make your setup a little more personalised. You will of course need a skin that supports customising menu items. This guide is done using the Aeon Nox skin. This method will also work with other modded versions of the skin. I chose this one as it is very popular.
You can use colour names to change the colours Red, Blue, Green but with this method we will use hex values as this allows us access to more colours.
We will start with the menu items as they are the most prominent.

- Select Settings (cog icon if using default skin or you may be using a different skin, just find Settings)
- Select Interface
- Select Skin (left side)
- Select Confgure skin (right hand side)
- Select Customization (left side)
- Select Setup the Aeon Nox main menu (right side)
- Select a category to change from the left hand menu. I will select Movies
- Select Set label from right hand menu
- Delete anything that is in the text entry field
- We now need to decide on what colour we are going to use. Most people would use Red, Orange, Blue etc but using markup we can enter hex values so you can use any colour you want. For this we will use the HTML Color Picker from W3Schools.
First you want to select roughly what colour you would like to use for the main menu entry. For the purpose of this we will use red.
After selecting red I can then choose a different shade by clicking on one of the listed items in the Shades section. You know need to take a note of the selected colour. In this example it is B20000 (the thing is you need 8 characters in the value so we need to add FF at the beginning so my red hex value would be FFB20000 (no need for the hash)
Now we have the chosen colour we need to add this colour to the main menu iten using markup which is done like so:
[COLOR hexvalue]Name of Menu Item[/COLOR]
You can also use a colour name like so
[COLOR red]Name of Menu Item[/COLOR]
- But with our method of using hex values we can get creative and use a more varied selection of colours.
- When you have entered the markup select Done
