How to Share Libraries Across Multiple Devices Kodi
There will be people who have Kodi on multiple devices, so sharing your video/music library across multiple devices in your home is something which many people will be interested in. Sharing libraries eliminates the need for creating a separate library for each device on your network.
With this guide I'll show you how to share using UPnP.
We will do this example with 2 devices. For me this will be Kodi in the living room and Kodi in my home office. Kodi in the living room is my main device or server as it will be for this and Kodi in the office is the client.

Kodi Multiple Devices Library Setup:
On Server:
- Open Kodi
- Select Settings (Cog icon top left)
- Select Services
- Select General
- Select Device Name
- It will probably already be called Kodi. Just add an S so we can recognise it as the Kodi Server
- Now select UPnP/DLNA from the Left Hand Menu
- Turn on Enable UPnP support
- Select Share my libraries
On Client:
- Open Kodi
- Select Settings (Cog icon top left)
- Select Services
- Select UPnP/DLNA from the Left Hand Menu
- Turn on Enable UPnP support
- Go back to your Home Screen
- Select Videos from the Left Hand Menu. If you are using a build or have edited the skin you will need to go into the skin settings, select Configure Skin and add Videos to your Main Menu items if you don't see it
- Select Files
- Select Add videos...
- Select Browse
- Select UPnP Devices
- Select your Kodi device from the list of Browse for new share and select OK (you should of course see KodiS now if you added an S as I recommended)
- Select Video Library in the next screen
- Select Files
- In the next screen just select OK
- Click on Enter a name for this media source
- Choose a name for the server (it should already say the name of the server but you can change if you wish) and select OK
- You can now access that library from Videos > Files > Name you called server
